Of course, today when I have finally decided to do this, I cannot think of a single thing on which to comment. So I will use this time to introduce myself to those who may come across my perusings. I view myself as an average and quite ordinary middle-aged woman who always seems to go to extremes. I produced four daughters at a time when we were promoting zero population growth. I finally finished college at the advance age of 55, and immediately went into a master's degree program, from which I graduated in two years--while working full time in a new career. I am living proof that anyone can accomplish anything that they truly desire and that we should not laugh at those who decide to do something new, unexpected, and perhaps a bit extreme. At a time when more than half of marriages end in divorce, I have been married for nearly 40 years. I married when I was still a teenager--another factor that usually dooms a union. However, I was extremely determined to remain married and so I have. So can anyone who truly wants to.
If I have learned anything in my 58 years of learning stuff, it is this. We always seem to get what we truly want. So be careful what you wish for. Peace.
